Hermetic protective structure

HOME > TECHNOLOGYSAFETYCONTAINMENT

The primary (internal) hermetic structure is designed to keep radioactive substances within the established design limits to minimize their spread in the environment in case of accidents.

The secondary (external) airtight structure absorbs the loads from external impacts: aircraft or ventilation chimney fall, external air shock wave, extreme wind, snow and temperature impacts, as well as the maximum calculated seismic impact.

The space between the two hermetic structures makes it possible to control the presence of leaks from the gaseous air environment in the primary hermetic structure during the different operating modes and emergency conditions.

For this purpose, the project envisages both active and passive systems with efficiency, which guarantee the compliance with the requirements for limiting the radiological impact in all regimes, including in case of severe accidents.

The location of the primary circuit equipment in the hermetic protective structure is presented in the video below.
